How a film gets made

It starts with one call. A single video takes 7 days and a set takes 14, with one round of changes included.

  1. Step 1 of 5: Brief callYour customer’s problem, your vision for the film, how many videos and which aspect ratios.
  2. Step 2 of 5: Your assetsYou send your brand assets and any raw footage or screen recordings.
  3. Step 3 of 5: Story and framesWe write the story and design the key frames.
  4. Step 4 of 5: Motion and soundAnimation, sound design, effects and voice-over.
  5. Step 5 of 5: Review and deliveryOne round of changes included, then every aspect ratio you asked for.

Two makers. No middlemen.

By day, we build and sell software. Between us, we’ve lived both sides of launch day.

We’ve watched features take a quarter to build and a single Slack message to announce. We’ve watched demos lose the room in the first minute. And we’ve seen the moment a customer finally gets it.

That moment sells software. So we founded Gravia to create it by design: explaining software so clearly that it lands, and customers stay to use it.

Viewers decide in the first three seconds whether to keep watching. The rest decides whether they buy. We make films that win both.

Questions, answered

Gravia Motion is a two-person UK studio that makes story-led motion films for software companies: launch films, feature release films, explainers and product demos. Every film is delivered in the aspect ratios you choose for where it will run, from your launch page to LinkedIn and the sales call.

Seven days for a single video, from the brief call to delivery. A set of videos takes fourteen days. If you need it sooner, rush delivery is available at extra cost.

One brief call, then your brand assets and any raw footage or screen recordings of your product. In the call we cover your customer’s problem, your vision for the film, how many videos you need and which aspect ratios.

The ones you ask for in the brief. 16:9 suits your site and YouTube, 1:1 or 4:5 suits LinkedIn, and 9:16 suits Reels and Shorts. Aspect ratios aren’t added automatically, so tell us every one you need at the start. Each film comes with captions and a poster frame.

Every project gets a fixed quote after the brief call, based on how many videos you need, how long they are and which aspect ratios. Rush delivery and extra rounds of changes are quoted up front, so there are no surprises.

Yes. If you need one, we’ll sign your NDA before the brief call.

Yes. One round of changes is included in every project, though we aim to get it right the first time. Extra rounds are available at extra cost.

Yes. If you ship features often, a monthly subscription gives you a steady flow of films. Tell us your release pace and we’ll suggest a plan.

Shriya Johari and Amish Shah, the two founders. No account managers and no hand-offs: both of us are on every film, from the first call to the final cut.
