Privacy notice

This notice explains what we do with the details you send us, why, how long we keep them, and your rights under UK data protection law. Last updated 1 November 2026.

Who we are

Gravia Motion (“we”, “us”) is the trading name of Shriya Johari and Amish Shah, freelance motion designers based in London, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything in this notice at graviamotion@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you use the contact form, we collect what you type into it: your name, work email, company, what you need help with, your timeline and budget, and any details or questions you add. If you email us directly, we collect your email address and whatever you include in the email.

When you visit the site, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details so it can deliver the pages and keep them secure. When you send the form, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, which can’t be turned back into the address, to stop the same visitor sending too many messages. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies ourselves.

If you book a call, you do it in a calendar provided by Calendly, shown on our contact section. Calendly collects the details you enter when booking and may set its own cookies when the calendar loads; see Calendly’s privacy notice.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and plan a project with you. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
  • To keep the form free of spam and abuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

We will not add you to a mailing list, send you marketing, or sell or share your details with anyone for their own use.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers to run the site, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, stores form submissions, and runs Turnstile, which checks that the form is sent by a person rather than a bot.
  • Google provides our email (Gmail), which holds the emails we send and receive.
  • Calendly runs the booking calendar and stores the details of calls you book with us.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not become a project, we delete your details within 12 months of our last contact. If we work together, we keep project correspondence for as long as we need it to deliver the work and meet our legal and accounting obligations, normally up to six years after the project ends.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email graviamotion@gmail.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Your browser’s storage

If you choose “Pause animation”, your browser remembers that choice on your own device so the site stays still next time. It is not sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page if anything here changes, and show the new date at the top.

Your product, in motion.
